Magnificent Achievement for Turnford Netball Club
Turnford travelled to Newcastle last weekend for the U14 National Club Championships. Turnford represented the East Region along with 17 other clubs.
The saturday would start with two matches which would dictate their grouping for the afternoon. In their first match they met neighbouring Essex team. The squad put into action all of their hard work and training, allowing them to a strong start with a 15-7 win, next up was Jersey Jets and again Turnford showed they were going to be a force to be reckoned with, with a 19-12 win.
This meant that Turnford finished top in their group and were due to play Sussex Royals and Rutland in the afternoon. Turnford again dominated the group winning both games with wins of 26-14 and 25-4 respectively. Turnford had secured a place in the top six and were due to play Tameside and MSN in the morning. First up were eventual winners Tameside.
With a disappointing loss, Turnford knew they had to beat Mid Sussex to play for 3rd or 4th position. They played with passion and took the win 20-14. Last up was Leeds.

Turnford's U16 achieve Bronze medal at the National Finals
The national journey started at the Hertfordshire rounds back in November 2014 progressing via the regional rounds to take their place at the National Finals at the Redbridge Sports Centre in Essex, last weekend. From over more than 100 clubs that took part, Turnford proudly took their place in the final 18, being one of the two teams that represented the East of England.
Turnford had a superb tournament. Saturday saw them win eight out of nine games played. Beating Oaksway from Hartlepool 58:25, Woodley from Berkshire 32:22, Sleaford Barge from Lincolnshire 54:15, Oldham 39:23, Telstars from Kent 37:22. This put them comfortably through on the Sunday to play for a top six position. The pooling system saw Turnford in a group with Tameside from the
north and Leeds Academy form Yorkshire. The first match against Tameside was a close encounter, with Tameside taking the match by only three goals 34:37. This meant that Turnford were now playing for third and fourth position and the opportunity of a bronze medal.

Turnford were back on their top winning form against Leeds, taking the game by a huge margin 43:21. Turnford can take some
consolation in knowing that they had comfortably beaten the eventual winners. Coach Carole Titmuss who has been with this squad since they were eight years of age, was so proud of not just this national tournament but their complete journey through the Junior section of Turnford Netball Club. to where they are now . We have thoroughly enjoyed the season and are pleased to being going to playoffs. During the season we have played against some outstanding teams, no game was easy and every game pushed us to improve for the next one.
Now the training continues, to ensure we play well at playoffs. As a club we would like to wish Omega good luck at playoffs, and well done for winning the league.

Omega 1
A fantastic season for Omega 1 this year, being undefeated in all games played and looking the part in their new vibrant kit, supplied by 'ORC Printwear Ltd'. Not only finishing top of the League, but scoring 932 goals in a season, a phenomenal 232 more than the next high scoring team, demonstrating superb shooting by Charlotte Jordan and Emma Maidment (Captain). All season we've seen fantastic court play with many an interception, bringing the ball down the court to our shooters from the mid court players, Sophie Cockrill, Lucy Andrews and Emma Gamby. Additionally, as indicated by the lowest goals scored against any team in the division, we've also seen strong defensive play from Hannah Sell, Sam Abbott and Andrea Kinninmonth. Excellent play all round. A big thank you also to the 2nd team players who helped out when we were short – Emma Faulkner; Laura Wilson; Claire Statham; Emma Lear and Charlotte Kendal.

Omega 2.
After many years of trying, Omega 2 fight hard to win the 3rd division, gaining promotion to division 2, with a clear 9 points in front of the runners up. Another high scoring season, with our shooters, Emma Lear, Anna Rogers, Emma Faulkner and Laura Millard, scoring 851 goals; 64 more than the next highest scoring team. The core seven players – Emma Lear, Anna Rogers, Emma Faulkner, Charlotte Kendal, Laura Wilson, Claire Statham and Louise Cousins - have show great determination this season, with great team play and fantastic team morale week after week. A big thank you to Laura Millard who opted not to start the season (playing adhoc as required), for joining the squad on a regular basis to help secure the win when one player had to stop for health reasons. A season not without difficulty resulted in a lot of support from Omega 3 local League players when the team have needed them...we couldn't have done it without them, so thank you Jody Francis, Hattie Brooks; Ellesse Ward; Leanne Dickens and Martha Rodman.

Playing at the new venue for the second half of the season has been amazing and we would like to thank the Herts League Committee for all their hard work, as well as everyone who has helped the club and team to run so effectively from players, scorers, organisers and umpires.
